I am a doctor myself and was a patient here for over a year with no real issues (besides Dr. Satnam Atwal refusing to write anything besides illegible paper scripts, which are a pain when dealing with controlled medication).

Unfortunately, when I moved, the office took way too long to send my records to my new physician. Further the records were completely illegible and thus of no help. When I called asking for perhaps typed transcripts of the records, or at least a rewritten legible summary, the secretary was incredibly rude and refused to help.

I am now in a position of being unable to prove that I was prescribed a medication by Dr. Atwal because his office (and by extension himself) refuse to acknowledge or fix this issue. This is not a terrible customer service, but also a poor and unsafe way to practice medicine that risks delaying care for patients in vulnerable positions.

Worst psychiatrist I’ve ever seen. His receptionist was rude, he scheduled a two week follow up and I needed refills. He told me and my wife we were there on the wrong day. We both heard him scheduled the appointment day. He wanted me to come back the next day because he forgot my file. It would have better if he admitted his error instead of blaming me for his lack of organization. He has files on the floor. WOW. We have a life and had other things scheduled. I had my pharmacist called for refills. Wouldn’t refill without seeing him. I found another doctor and done with this duck. Quack quack!

One of the worst medical experiences I have ever been through. Dr. Satnam Atwal keeps his appointments extremely short and talks over his patients. After receiving the wrong medication from Dr. Atwal I was not able to correct it or get off of it safely for nearly a year. In situations of confrontation the doctor became verbally aggressive. I would not recommend going to his practice.

Really poor customer service. I drove over one hour to take my brother in law to see this doctor only for his appointment to be cancelled. My daughter received a call the day before, but no voicemail. She attempted to call them twice while she was at work but due to the amount of time it takes to even get to the voicemail she was unable to leave a voicemail.

The nurse then called my daughter while my brother in law and I were at the office (keep in mind shes at work) and was giving her a bad attitude. The doctor was not in the office. She didn't leave my daughter a voicemail and said that when my daughter called back she should have left a voicemail. Keep in mind also his appointment was at 10am and they had two hours the day of to attempt to recontact us.

If i could go less I would. So I started to question dr Atwal about why he keep increasing my sons medication every two weeks even though he said himself we won't see a change until at least 8wks, he got very upset and then tells me I should be more considerate of his time because other drs wouldn't even see us. That was another flag right there. Then he proceeds to walk us out to the reception area and says ok let's schedule you for two weeks, then claims I dont have insurance and that I have to pay $150.00. I said no i do not need to pay out of pocket i have insurance and even you asked the receptionist refund me for the charge during our first visit because we are in fact covered. I watched his billing clerk correct it on my file. He proceeds to the back of the office, comes back and says we need to find a new therapist and he will give us a months worth of meds to cover him because he no longer takes our insurance. This guy is a joke and I just found has been sued previously for mal practice. He needs his license removed

I started seeing Dr.Atwal a little over a year ago, and was hesitant at first. I have shied away from doctors through my adult life, and didn't want to go to what I thought was the doctor for "crazy people." After seeing how much even a psychologist helped, and constant urging from my wife I made an appointment. With Dr. Atwals help I have been able to run my business more proficiently, and my family life has improved drastically because of him. From day one I felt comfortable talking with him as you would a long time friend, and he is genuinely interested in my well being. Thank you Dr. Atwal for helping me, and being the most kind and compassionate doc I have ever been to!

Keep in mind, when you are reading these other reviews that Dr. Atwal sees a very large amount of patients every day. A few bad reviews out of the most likely thousands of patients he has helped during the years is a pretty darn good satisfaction rate to me. Most people write reviews when they are upset about something, or feel dissatisfied. I felt it was important enough to say something positive so you do not feel dissuaded from reaching out for Dr. Atwals help. Goodbye, and keep on keepin' on!!!!

The front desk receptionist may have changed because they are so much nicer now. Also, the doctor is great. We have been going to him for the last 3 years and the service provided has been getting better each time.

I went for my depression, and asked for Wellbutrin. He wouldn’t give me that when I know how it effects me and that it’s what I like. He said I was “too young”. I’m 18. My sister was 13/14 when he prescribed her this. Instead of the ONE medication, he prescribed me THREE. None of the things he prescribed me helped with depression and I did not like any of them and when I told him I didn’t like them, he just said I looked “better” and heupped the dosage. I stopped going for a while and my depression has gotten worse so I thought I’d go back and ask for Wellbutrin again. I asked for it, he said he’d give it to me. When I left, I realized on the prescription slip that it didn’t say Wellbutrin, or even the off-brand version of it. I went back in and asked him if the prescription was Wellbutrin and he told me no he didn’t want to give me that and that it was something else. He told me he was prescribing me Wellbutrin but tried giving me something totally different, and is a medication mainly for seizures, without even telling me what I was being prescribed. He is honestly ridiculous. My sister saw him for years and he prescribed her stuff for bipolar(she is not bipolar) and other things. She has an eating disorder and he prescribed her two specific medications you CANNOT give to patients that have bulimia, one of them being Wellbutrin, it can affect their heart really bad. We did not realize that the medications were a big part of the reason she was having heart issues in her treatment center until they took her off of them. He should not have the career that he has and should get in trouble for 1. Not telling me what I’m being prescribed after telling me it’s going to be Wellbutrin and 2. Giving my sister medications that could make her heart fail KNOWING she has an eating disorder. It should be common sense for him to not give her those medications since he’s a “doctor”. I would not recommend going to him.
